V&A launch open-call for homemade signs and rainbow drawings created during lockdown

The V&A has today announced an open-call for homemade signs created during lockdown to enter its permanent collection. From rainbow signs created by children to shop signs and hand-written notes posted in public spaces, the V&A is seeking signs that have been created by individuals and communities in response to the current isolation measures.  During social distancing, homemade signs have become commonplace on our streets. Gordon Marks the retail jeweller, has today revealed that they have been contacted by the police due to a customer falling prey to a vicious scam. A Gordon Marks representative said, "Unfortunately a lady was scammed yesterday by being sent in to our jewellers to purchase a diamond ring by people pretending to be police. A new report, published by ArtsProfessional, illuminates the somewhat taboo subject of pay and earnings within the Arts Sector.  Alongside a quantitative analysis of pay, accross many dimensions of earning- in different organisations, by different demographics and in self-employed, part-time and full-time work- is a staggering 80 pages of qualitative data, made up of over 650 individual comments. For the fourth consecutive year, London-based sculptor turned jewellery designer Sarah Straussberg has created the trophy for winner of the Photo London ‘Master of Photography’ award. Weston Beamor Announce Winner of BCU Live Project 2018

Birmingham City University's School of Jewellery student Kai-Blu Triassi has won the annual Weston Beamor  Live Project  with his contemporary geometric ‘Dyad’ engagement and wedding ring set design. Kai-Blu’s award was announced on the WB stand at this year’s Jewellery & Watch show. Kai-Blu impressed judges with his striking and bold ring set, commercial-focus, unique design and understanding of thickness and tolerances, demonstrated through his strong CAD modelling skills.
