‘Make Christmas happen’ programme launched by the National Association of Jewellers

The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) has today announced an exclusive programme of support for just 16 independent jewellery retailers who have their sights set on a successful festive trading period. ‘Make Christmas happen’  is a structured commercially led support programme for a cohort of 16 participants, put together for those who are best positioned within an independent jewellery businesses to ‘make it happen’. After the success of our last collaboration with This is Clapham, we are joining forces once again. On Saturday 3rd December we are putting on a Christmas market to coincide with Xmas lights getting turned on. The market will run between 12-6pm and stalls will cost £60 for a table which is 2.5m x 1m and a gazebo. Once again, we are happy to receive joint applicants to share tables. Fresh calls for vigilance after spike in high end smash and grab robberies

The recent spate of violent 'smash and grab' moped robberies on leading British jewellers will increase in the run up to Christmas, a leading security expert has warned and retailers are urged to contact police with reports of any suspicious activity. Robberies have taken place across the country with premium watches, primarily Rolex, targeted by gangs of youths. Last weekend, following a successful weekend-long Open Studios event at Cockpit Arts, Holborn, London, a jewellery workshop was targeted and broken into in the early hours of Sunday night /Monday morning and the occupants’ entire stock was stolen.
