Bounded + Unlimited Contemporary Jewellery

Bounded + Unlimited Contemporary Jewellery Bounded + Unlimited  is an exhibition of exceptional precious jewellery and goldsmithing by four contemporary jewellery artists from Ireland and China. The exhibition explores the parallel working practices of these jewellery artists across design, techniques and materials, from the perspective of differing cultural contexts. The title refers to how the artists are bounded by their respective personal and national cultural experiences, yet unlimited in opportunities for communication and understanding through the traditions of their craft. Q&A: Guðbjörg Kristín Ingvarsdóttir

Guðbjörg Kristín Ingvarsdóttir is a goldsmith, Jewellery designer and co-founder of the award-winning sustainable jewellery brand Aurum, Iceland's leading jewellery brand. Guðbjörg began her career studying goldsmithing at Copenhagen Technical College, completing her journeyman’s examination in 1993. She completed her master craftsman examination in goldsmithing at Reykjavík Technical College in 1994, subsequently returning to Copenhagen to study jewellery design at the Institute for Precious Metals.  Guðbjörg collaboratively ran the jewellery workshop Au-Art in Copenhagen from 1996 to 1999, before returning to Iceland where she founded the design and jewellery firm Aurum. Donald Friedlich can be called a glass alchemist. Goldsmiths’ Company’s Library Catalogue

The Goldsmiths’ Company’s Library is a reference resource for jewellers and silversmiths and its library catalogue is now  online . The library’s holdings include books, articles and images on goldsmithing, silversmithing and hallmarking: from technical manuals to hip hop jewellery and 21 century silversmithing. The library is open from Tuesday to Thursday, from 10am to 4.30pm and all researchers are welcome, by appointment. Bulgari Inaugurates New Jewellery Manufacturing Facility in Valenza

Bulgari inaugurated its new  jewellery  manufacturing facility in  Valenza , Italy, on 17 March. Bridging tradition and innovation, the 14,000-square-meter site expands Bulgari’s exclusively “Made in Italy” manufacturing network.
