Last week, Rotary made its TV debut on the Channel 4 show, Extreme Chocolate Makers. The new series follows chocolatiers from around the UK as they tackle tricky builds and complicated commissions in an attempt to deliver a little bit of chocolate heaven. Ahead of its 125th birthday, Rotary commissioned Paul Wayne Gregory, of the TV show, to create a griant-sized replica of one of their most popular watches. He specialises in bespoke, avant garde jewellery designs, painstakingly sourcing unique stones, cut and faceted by specialist artisan stone cutters making use of geometric lines and natural inclusions within the stones themselves. Last week, the Goldsmiths’ Company delivered the first Jewellery Materials Congress. The conference, which is the largest conference world-wide to address jewellery technology, was created to support the jewellery and silverware community, by providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge to better the industry, free of commercialisation.  Over the two-day conference, a wide agenda of topics was addressed through a series of talks and Q&A, broadly categorised by four themes: academic research, visions of the industry, and artisan and industrial materials manufacture. Branded Jewellery Sales to Soar by 2020

A recently published report by consultant firm Mckinsey has forecast annual global sales growth in branded jewellery of between 5% to 6% each year by 2020 to take sales from approximately £132 billion to £223 billion globally.
