Grants of up to £5,000 are being offered for 'ambitious learning experiences' as part of the Career Catalyst initiative, offered by the Goldsmiths' Centre, with support from the Goldsmiths' Company Charity and the Radcliffe Trust.  The idea was inspired by former Goldsmiths' Company Apprentice, award-winning jeweller and engraver Castro Smith, whose 2018 travels to Japan have informed and enhanced his recent work. New Designers: winners of the Goldsmiths’ Company awards announced

New Designers, a platform promoting new creative talent from graduates, has announced the 2020 recipients of the Goldsmiths’ Company awards for jewellery and silversmithing. The winners are jeweller Coco Liang from Birmingham City University and silversmith Yitong Shang from the Glasgow School of Art. This year, the competition was held digitally with students encouraged to submit design ideas online. Centred on the theme of ‘community’, competition submissions needed to be ‘highly creative, thought-provoking, and capable of triggering discussion and debate’. The Huguenot Museum seek to commission some unique pieces of silver to be sold in our Museum Shop in time for Christmas. Goldsmiths Fair Features Celebrated Film by Ujin Lin

Celebrated filmmaker  Ujin  Lin has created a video installation for Goldsmiths’ Fair 2017. His film 'Precious Mysteries' features jewellery and silver he selected from this year’s Fair exhibitors. Ujin  has previously made video campaigns for brands such as Prada, Philip Lim and Zara.
