My bench mate is leaving and so I am looking for someone to share my bench with! I usually work office hours and so use the bench evenings (6pm onwards) and weekends, and the occasional weekday, so I am looking for someone who needs it mostly weekdays daytime. John Donald (1928 -2023)

John Donald, one of the fathers of Contemporary Jewellery died aged 94 on Thursday 21st September, after a short illness. His contribution to jewellery design cannot be underestimated, from his mentoring of generations of apprentices to his innovative techniques and designs; some of which can be seen in the work of some jewellers at this week's Goldsmiths' Fair. Donald Duck and Tintin might struggle to compete with nature or music as mainstream sources of artistic inspiration but for Max Danger, comic strip characters have sparked a stream of ideas and helped shape a notable career.
