WB The Creative Jewellery Group have announced changes to its Gecko leadership team, with current Head of Sales and Operations, Ruth Johnson promoted to the role of General Manager for the leading fine fashion jewellery wholesaler.

Ruth has worked at Gecko for more than 14 years, joining the team in 2003 as Customer Services Manager. Ruth’s diligence, passion and incredible work ethic have been cited as key reasons for her rapid promotion to Operations Manager in less than three years. Ruth’s advanced negotiation and leadership skills were further recognised in 2016, when she was promoted to Head of Sales and Operations.

Commenting on the promotion, Managing Director, Andrew Morton, said:

“Ruth is a proactive and considered leader. I’m really pleased to be able to recognise her talent and commitment with this promotion.

“Ruth has absolutely earned this progression and the Gecko business is made stronger with this significant change. Ruth can now lead, develop and grow Gecko, in line with our over-arching Group strategy and vision. With the added responsibility, also comes the freedom to grow the business further.

“Ruth also has an excellent support network in both her own senior leadership team and the senior WB TCJG directorate. I am confident that Ruth will continue to do an excellent job at Gecko and wish her the very best in her new role.”

Commenting on her promotion, new Gecko General Manager, Ruth Johnson said:

“I’m very pleased to have been promoted to the General Manager position; it’s very edifying to be recognised, especially when it’s within a business that you care passionately about. I’m incredibly proud of my team and what we have achieved together. I’m really looking forward to this new chapter in my Gecko journey and working with my colleagues to further grow and develop our business.”

Ruth will take on overall responsibility for all day-to-day activities for Gecko from 1st September 2018.
