Skilled Jeweller / Goldsmith

Jacqueline & Edward

Wetherby, West Yorkshire

All experience levels considered

About Us

Jacqueline & Edward is a growing online ethical jeweller specialising in recycled precious metals and gemstones. We create handcrafted engagement rings, wedding rings, and bespoke jewellery from our workshop in Wetherby. We also incorporate natural alluvial gold from across the UK and beyond, adding genuine provenance to our work.

One of our founders, Mark, is an experienced gold panner, and we offer gold panning experiences where customers can incorporate their own discoveries into their jewellery. Every piece we make is handmade in-house — we don’t take on trade work or repairs, which means our workshop is a creative environment focused entirely on original design and making.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Jeweller / Goldsmith and Stone Setter to join our friendly team in Wetherby.

We are open to a range of experience levels, from apprentice-trained through to fully established goldsmiths, with salary reflecting experience.

In this role you will:

  • Handmaking pieces from our existing collection to a consistently high standard.
  • Design and create bespoke commissions for clients.
  • Develop and prototype new designs for our online collection.
  • Work with molten metal, taking pieces from open pour through to finished ring.
  • This includes rolling out, drawing wire, mounting up and setting.

About You

  • Sound foundational bench skills and a genuine passion for the craft.
  • Attention to detail — our pieces must meet the highest standards.
  • Ability to manage your workflow efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • A team player with reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Able to commute reliably to our Wetherby workshop.
  • Experience setting precious gemstones (diamonds, rubies, emeralds, sapphires).
  • Confidence working from open pour through to finished piece.
  • Ability to replicate pieces from our range during a bench test (for more experienced candidates).

What We Offer

  • Salary negotiable based on experience.
  • Workplace pension scheme.
  • Generous holiday entitlement.
  • Free on-site parking.
  • A creative, handmade-only workshop — no trade work or repairs.
  • Genuine opportunity to contribute to design development and see your work go into our collection.
  • A supportive, friendly team that takes pride in what we make.

How to Apply

Please send your CV and a short note about yourself to us using the application form below.

We’d love to hear what drew you to the role and see examples of your work if you have them.

About us

At Jacqueline & Edward, we work with recycled metals and alluvial river gold sourced from across the UK and the rest of the world to create engagement rings, ethical wedding rings, and jewellery. Our business began with a hammer and a vice in a workshop built beside our home. Since then, we have outgrown three spaces and recently moved into a custom refurbished three-storey building in the heart of beautiful Wetherby, just a short stroll from the river. We have some exciting plans for the future, some of which are already underway.

Right now, we are looking for good solid folk to accompany us on our journey and become a part of our growing team.
