Adagio is an artistic project about time writes Ilaria Ruggiero in her exhibition review.

As photography teaches us, an image is the pure settling for rhythm, the sense of time descending into vision.

This is a delicate project that deals with light and movement through the diverse artistic forms of photography and jewellery.

A minimalist and conceptual work that is reflected in the dual aesthetic soul of the image and the jewel: both evanescent yet present, stylized and essential.

Letizia Maggio's technical and artistic research evolves into a sophisticated and complex narration, which mixes materials such as cotton, silver and textiles into innovative and abstract compositions.

A strong inspiration, which derives from the light and austere aesthetics of the East, transmits a sense of calm, peace and composure that permeates the totality of the vision.

The overlapping of small geometric layers of fabric, elegantly and expertly mixed, creates imaginative patterns that change flavour and sense when viewed from near or far.

A bit like the same photograph and video, playing with the details and the illusion of the moving image, at different speeds, but if possible, in an Adagio.

Overall, the project aspires to communicate a suspended grace, beyond time itself, perfectly embodied in the intensity of Megumi Isono, which breaks down any commonplace logic of beauty and expresses the absolute singularity of the intensity of life.

Adagio Uno is a touring exhibition whose aim is to give equal strength to objects (the jewels) and images (the photos and the video installation) and eventually transfer to the audience the sense of balance and fulfilment the artists themselves experienced while working on this project.

Alice Brazzit, Italian photographer and video artist, lives in Barcelona and works in Italy and Spain.

She deals with various sectors and projects, some strictly artistic, others more commercial. She is particularly active in the fields of contemporary dance and portraiture.

Letizia Maggio, after having enriched her education through goldsmithing and ceramics courses with internationally renowned artists, has translated everything she has learned into research into the materials and languages of contemporary jewellery. Her works, micro works which blend sculpture, painting and installative language, are internationally renowned.

Megumi Isono, a multifaceted character with many nuances, is an exceptional model for this project.

The video installation is curated by Alice Brazzit herself in collaboration with the multimedia artist Alberto Biasutti.
