Scott Walter, who is the chief executive and master of the Edinburgh Assay Office will take up the role of chairman of the Convention on the Control & Marking of Articles of Precious Metals (CCMAPM) at the end of November. Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council appoints new Chair and Vice Chair

The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council  (GC&DC) has appointed John Ball, managing director at British fine jewellery manufacturer Brown & Newirth, as its new Chair for the next two years. John takes over the role of Chair from Anne-Marie Reeves, who has come to the end of her two-year term, but will remain on Council. Having joined the GC&DC as a council member in 2020, John has held the position of Vice Chair of Council for the last two years, assisting Anne-Marie. British jewellery designer Phoebe Walsh has created a series of 5 miniature flower pressing books in recycled Sterling Silver, each containing a single war flower from the new frontlines in Kyiv. Earth To Earth | Adi Toch Solo Exhibition Sarah Myerscough Gallery, London W1K 23 November 2023 - 2 March 2024   Earth to Earth is the first solo presentation of new works by Adi Toch that explores the profundity of nature’s mark-making and the touches of time. The show features new collections that are an extension of her Shrouded series, exhibited as part of the Cheongju Craft Biennale in Korea in 2023. The artist slowly shapes her objects: vessels are converted from flat sheets of metal to final sumptuous forms, while mirrors are cut, engraved and polished.
