Design Build Cast is a specialist precious metal casting company serving the UK jewellery trade. Our reputation has been built on quality, technical expertise and customer service, producing castings in gold, platinum and other precious metals for jewellers and brands throughout the UK.
Alongside our established London operation, we are expanding our production capability through our new facility in Oldbury, Birmingham.
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of production at DBC Birmingham.
This is a hands-on role at the centre of the production operation. You will be responsible for organising workflow, coordinating the production team and ensuring customer jobs move efficiently through each stage of the process while maintaining the quality and turnaround times for which DBC is known.
Previous experience within jewellery manufacturing is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day production workflow at DBC Birmingham
- Plan and prioritise work to meet customer deadlines and agreed turnaround times
- Coordinate jobs through the different stages of production
- Manage, support and develop members of the production team
- Monitor workload, capacity, quality and productivity
- Identify bottlenecks and resolve day-to-day production issues
- Ensure jobs are correctly recorded and tracked throughout production
- Maintain consistent production procedures and quality standards
- Work closely with the CAD, casting and other production functions
- Liaise with our London team to ensure an effective workflow between both sites
- Maintain high standards of organisation, security, health & safety and housekeeping
- Contribute to the continued development and improvement of production processes
About You
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager with a strong background in jewellery manufacturing or precious metal production.
Previous experience within the jewellery manufacturing industry is essential. You should have a practical understanding of jewellery production processes and experience of managing people and workflow within a busy production environment.
You will need to be highly organised, able to prioritise competing workloads and comfortable making day-to-day production decisions. You should have strong attention to detail and understand the importance of balancing quality, efficiency and customer deadlines.
You will also need to be an effective communicator, able to work closely with different production disciplines and coordinate activity across our Birmingham and London operations.

This is an opportunity to take a key role within DBC as we develop our Birmingham manufacturing operation.
You will join an established specialist casting business while helping to develop the team, working practices and production capability at our new Birmingham facility.

Working alongside The London Art Works (TLAW), we support CAD, casting and manufacturing across the full production process.
