Overview
The Hamilton Gold Company is a growing, family-run jewellery business specialising in fine jewellery, with a strong focus on engagement rings and wedding jewellery.
We create individually designed pieces for our customers, from classic solitaire and trilogy engagement rings through to detailed and complex bespoke designs.
As our bespoke business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Jewellery CAD Designer to join our team on a part-time basis and support our increasing volume of customer commissions.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Jewellery CAD Designer who can confidently take a customer design brief and turn it into an accurate, production-ready CAD to a consistently high standard.
You will primarily be creating CAD designs for bespoke customer commissions, working from design briefs, specifications and reference images.
The role is remote and part time, initially 15 hours per week, with the potential for the volume of work and hours to increase as the business grows.
Work Listing
- Creating CAD models for bespoke jewellery
- Producing designs ranging from classic solitaires and trilogy rings to more detailed bespoke pieces
- Accurately interpreting customer briefs, specifications and reference images
- Ensuring designs are technically suitable for manufacture
- Producing accurate, production-ready CAD files
- Creating high-quality, professional renders suitable for presentation to customers
- Making amendments and refinements following customer feedback
- Working to agreed turnaround times and maintaining a consistently high standard across all designs
- Communicating effectively with our team throughout the design process
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous professional experience in jewellery CAD design
- Confident using Matrix or Rhino, with Matrix experience preferred
- Strong understanding of jewellery construction and manufacturing requirements
- Experience creating both simple and technically complex jewellery designs
- Ability to accurately interpret design briefs, reference images and specifications
- Ability to produce accurate, production-ready CAD files
- Strong rendering ability and experience producing professional customer-facing renders
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable communication and ability to work within agreed deadlines
- Suitable remote-working setup

There is potential for the hours and volume of work to increase as the role develops.

Applicants will be asked to provide a portfolio of previous jewellery CAD work, demonstrating both CAD modelling and rendering ability.
Shortlisted applicants may also be asked to complete a trial design. This will allow us to assess the quality and accuracy of the work, as well as typical turnaround time, before moving forward.
