The Dior Exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, was definitely not one to miss. The exhibition was organised by rooms, each one relating to a specific theme or idea. When entering the exhibition, it appeared almost like the entrance to a mansion and had dressed mannequins stood at the windows. The entrance started off the exhibition with Dior’s infamous ‘The New Look’ collection in honour of his original work. The extravagant entrance was able to express the high stature of Dior’s brand. Orkney jewellery designer Zoe Davidson has been raising funds to help with the refurbishment of an island lifeboat museum through sales of a limited-edition collection of her work. Stephen Bottomley is a Jewellery Designer, Academic and Researcher and will take up position as the new Head of School at the School of Jewellery Birmingham this Spring. Orkney Jewellery Designer Re-Creates Rare Pictish Necklace

A young Orkney jewellery designer has re-created a rare, 1,400-year-old Pictish necklace, the original of which is kept within the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Zoe Davidson crafted her 1kg solid silver version of the famous Whitecleugh Chain, discovered in Lanarkshire in 1869, after a personal commission from Orkney archaeology tour guide, Caz Mamwell. The original chain, thought to date from between 400 and 800AD, is comprised of 44 silver rings, interlinked into 22 pairs. “The Whitecleugh Chain is full of mystery as nobody really knows who wore it, when they wore it, or how they even made it,”
