A survey with 120 respondents carried out by  The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council  has found that Covid-19 is adversely impacting designer-makers across the UK, driving it to announce a series of new initiatives to support, connect and inspire isolated craftspeople during this time. In a survey shared with silversmiths, jewellery designers, manufacturers, apprentices and those working in allied trades, The Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council (GC&DC) sought to understand the current needs, concerns and mood of its audience in order to best support them during this time. Due to the ongoing travel and contact restrictions designed to stop the spread of the global coronavirus pandemic, Messe München has decided to cancel INHORGENTA MUNICH 2021. The decision was taken in detailed consultation with the advisory board, as well as exhibitors, visitors and partners of Europe’s leading platform for jewelry, watches and gemstones. The focus is now on preparing for a successful INHORGENTA MUNICH 2022—scheduled to take place from February 11 to 14—and on further developing the digital INHORGENTA TRENDFACTORY. Benedikt Fischer, has been announced as the winner of the 2018 Mari Funaki Award for Contemporary Jewellery in the Established category for his series of five Pearly Whites brooches, made from shell, mother of pearl, remanium and sculpey. ‘The Brooch is back’ Sally Lees To Exhibit At Craft Central 2017

Sally Lees is one of 13 designers selected to make a series of brooches by Transport for London for the exhibition ‘The Brooch is back’ at Craft Central 2017. Sally’s brooches are inspired by the flora and fauna and unusual flowers for Kew Gardens Tube station and by some cute London Zoo animals for Regents Park Tube station. Contemporary Camouflage is Rebecca Hannon’s latest project, one she has developed during two months residency at Studio Rian de Jong, in Amsterdam.
