The London Diamond Bourse held an Extraordinary General Meeting in the first week of November where the future of the organisation was discussed openly with members present. Need for flexible working may underpin gender pay gap

A desire for flexible working arrangements and a reluctance to relocate for more senior roles were the reasons behind a gender pay gap in the jewellery retail industry that was higher than the national average, research has shown. The annual Contemporary Spring Craft Fair held at RHS Garden Wisley may have been cancelled this year due to Covid-19 but the organisers, Craft In Focus, have moved the fair online.   Visitors who were planning to attend this, the UK’s most popular craft fair, will not need to miss out and can now find all their favourite exhibitors online and discover a fabulous selection of professional contemporary craftmakers and artists selected from the finest in the UK.  They will not even have to queue to enter! Theo Fennell collaborates with Peter Harrington books

Peter Harrington, the UK’s largest rare bookseller, has collaborated with its London neighbour, British jewellery designer Theo Fennell, to launch a new exhibition within the Theo Fennell gallery in Fulham Road, which is on until Thursday 12th July. The exhibition features rare Peter Harrington books from the 15th to 20th century including Goldfinger, The Secret Garden, The Arabian Nights, The Seven Pillars of Wisdom and The Complete Pooh Series which have been paired with Theo Fennell related jewellery pieces, including The Colosseum Ring, The Henry V Brooch, The Oscar Wilde Ring, The Empty Quarter Ring and the Emerald City Ring.

Announced: Enjoia’t Award Winners 2016

On 30th of September the awards ceremony and party of Enjoia’t 2016 organized by Artists and Artisans of Fomento para las Artes Decorativas (A-FAD) took place at the garden of the Maritime Museum of Barcelona, with a large attendance by the Spanish jewellery community. At the party, the creative shortlisted pieces were displayed, which were designed to consider small-scale production, using unforeseen materials and techniques.
