Taxman issues warning after jeweller banned from running business

Company directors have been warned to keep detailed financial records after Gary Wright director of a watch and jewellery wholesaler AS Diamonds in Stevenage was banned from acting as a director for six years for failing to explain away irregular payments. Wright treated HMRC 'detrimentally', according to the Insolvency Service, by charging VAT on almost £500,000 worth of sales invoices but not filing any VAT returns or paying any VAT to HMRC. Although Wright did submit accounting records, they were considered 'inadequate' by the Insolvency Service who claimed they were unable to verify the purpose of payments made to himself

Inhorgenta Munich has reported strong growth figures for its 2018 show, which took place between 16 to 19 February. The event organiser reported that some 27,000 trade visitors from over 70 countries visited the German based trade show. According to Inhorgenta 1026 exhibitors from 42 countries participated in the international focused trade show over the six exhibition halls covering a total space of 65,000 square meters. Alighieri set to grow brand after landing first NEWGEN award

British jeweller Alighieri has become the first jeweller to receive NEWGEN support from the British Fashion Council under the restructured sponsorship scheme.
