A recently published report by consultant firm Mckinsey has forecast annual global sales growth in branded jewellery of between 5% to 6% each year by 2020 to take sales from approximately £132 billion to £223 billion globally. Taxman issues warning after jeweller banned from running business

Company directors have been warned to keep detailed financial records after Gary Wright director of a watch and jewellery wholesaler AS Diamonds in Stevenage was banned from acting as a director for six years for failing to explain away irregular payments. Wright treated HMRC 'detrimentally', according to the Insolvency Service, by charging VAT on almost £500,000 worth of sales invoices but not filing any VAT returns or paying any VAT to HMRC. MAKE '17 Contemporary crafts for Christmas, Devon Guild of Craftsmen MAKE '17 is the annual Christmas selling exhibition in the Devon Guild's large contemporary gallery space. It runs from Saturday 18 November, 2017 to Monday 7 January, 2018. This show celebrates the diversity of contemporary craft and will focus on selling handmade, high quality craftsmanship, highlighting one-off, unique pieces alongside small-scale batch production. During the run of MAKE 2016 13,796 people visited the exhibition, approximately 14,600 visited online and over £24,000 in sales were achieved.
