Gordon Marks the retail jeweller, has today revealed that they have been contacted by the police due to a customer falling prey to a vicious scam. A Gordon Marks representative said, "Unfortunately a lady was scammed yesterday by being sent in to our jewellers to purchase a diamond ring by people pretending to be police. Its all incredibly sad." The scam works like this, according to police: The scammers already have their target’s details, they then call them by phone and pretend to be the police. The scammers then advise the victim that they are 'a victim of card fraud'

Jeremy France Jewellers have smashed their £10k target for donations made to local charity, The Murray Parish Trust, raising nearly £11,000 in just over a year. Since October 2016, the independent Winchester jewellers have been taking charitable donations for all jewellery polishing, as well as holding  in-store events and raffles to raise much needed funds for the cause. British Hallmarking Council’s Touchstone and HALO Awards championing Hallmarking Enforcement and Education

The HALO (Hallmarking Awareness and Learning Online) Award 2024 was launched by the  British Hallmarking Council  in early June. Fresh calls for vigilance after spike in high end smash and grab robberies

The recent spate of violent 'smash and grab' moped robberies on leading British jewellers will increase in the run up to Christmas, a leading security expert has warned and retailers are urged to contact police with reports of any suspicious activity. Birmingham based British Allied Trades Federation (BATF) receive the commemorative ‘Silence Fell’ silverware to mark the end of the Great War. Goldsmiths’ Fair 2016 Closes to Huge Success

The 34th edition of Goldsmiths’ Fair, the UK’s premier destination to view and buy fine jewellery and contemporary silver, closed its doors on Sunday afternoon. In what proved to be another successful year for the Fair, over 9,000 people, including royalty, members of the House of Lords, ambassadors, artists, gallerists, international collectors, and jewellery enthusiasts of all stripes, visited the event and sales were strong. The Goldsmiths’ Company is delighted to support Jacobs the Jewellers’ Young Designer Competition, a brilliant initiative focusing on emerging silversmiths and jewellers. Staged at the renowned Reading-based jewellery store from 6-30 June 2017, the competition will feature work from nine emerging designers from the Bishopsland Educational Trust.
