Mark Buntz Joins GIA as SVP and Chief Marketing Officer

The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) has appointed Mark Buntz as senior vice president and chief marketing officer to lead all global marketing efforts and drive the future of the GIA brand. Buntz will support the expansion of GIA’s education, laboratory services – including the new GIA Diamond Origin Report – and instruments business into new markets and extend GIA’s 4Cs of Diamond Quality consumer outreach program. Pforzheim: 250th Anniversary of the Golden City

In 2017 Pforzheim, Germany will celebrate the 250th anniversary of its jewellery and watch industry. The city will mark this anniversary with unique exhibitions and spectacular live acts, with jewellery and design art, with conventions and congresses, with plenty of music and theatre and it will demonstrate which innovations have developed out of Pforzheim’s traditional industry. It was Margrave Karl Friedrich, who in 1767 issued the privilege to create a pocket watch and silverware manufactory in Pforzheim. In doing so, he initiated a story of success that would shape Pforzheim to this day and finally make it the “Golden City”.

Earth To Earth | Adi Toch Solo Exhibition Sarah Myerscough Gallery, London W1K 23 November 2023 - 2 March 2024 Earth to Earth is the first solo presentation of new works by Adi Toch that explores the profundity of nature’s mark-making and the touches of time. The show features new collections that are an extension of her Shrouded series, exhibited as part of the Cheongju Craft Biennale in Korea in 2023. The artist slowly shapes her objects: vessels are converted from flat sheets of metal to final sumptuous forms, while mirrors are cut, engraved and polished.
