Trial of the Pyx 2017  Since 1871, the annual Trial of the Pyx has taken place at the Hall of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, London. The Trial of the Pyx dates back to the 12th century, making it one of the longest established judicial procedures in the country. During the last 8 years, The Contemporary Silver Gallery have concentrated solely on a summer exhibition – initially just showing exceptional pieces of silver by the top UK silversmiths, and in the last 3 years also adding jewellery to the exhibits available for purchase. At the end of 2015, The Contemporary Silver Gallery were asked to trial a winter exhibition, with silver pieces only, and it was extremely successful.
