Alloy developer Kostin’s Lab showed five jewellery and art projects created with contemporary designers, each exploring how new metal alloys could shape form, structure and meaning. Kostin’s Lab, the family-run laboratory that develops alloys for jewellery and fashion accessories, presented ALLOYED VISIONS at BUAT Gallery in Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella from 14 to 18 October 2026, as part of Barcelona Design Week. The exhibition was also part of OFF Enjoia’t, the parallel programme to A-FAD’s Enjoia’t, which takes contemporary jewellery into galleries and cultural spaces across Barcelona as a city-wide platform for experimentation and new approaches to the discipline. Unbelievably ( to us ) t his February, the 6th to be exact, Benchpeg turned 18. Benchpeg was formed back in 2006, in an environment where the jewellery, silver and allied trades faced myriad challenges such as fragmentation and lack of interconnectivity and when digital media was in its infancy. Yes, we’re that old. We hope that we have helped address some of those issues over the last 18 years. We couldn't have made it this far down the road without our fantastic community of jewellers, retailers, makers, silversmiths, educators, those at the bench and those in the background, the
Vicenzaoro January 2026 didn’t present a single headline trend — and that, in itself, is the headline. Instead of a unified aesthetic direction, the show revealed an industry that is re-engineering itself in real time: adjusting to sustained high gold prices, cautious consumer spending, rising production costs, and increasing pressure on differentiation. The brands that stood out weren’t chasing fashion; they were solving problems. For a B2B audience, Vicenzaoro this year was less about inspiration and more about strategy. Design Is Being Asked to Work Harder Modular, stackable and transformable jewellery dominated across price points — not because it’s new,

Bid farewell to the dark and gloomy days of winter depression and skip into the bright lights of Spring with the covetable tint of
Didsbury-based bespoke jeweller Abdulla 'Bud' Mulki almost didn't send his self-tape. Six days later, he was on an international film set in Bulgaria. Abdulla 'Bud' Mulki, founder of independent bespoke jewellery studio Si Vis Amari, has appeared in Experian's major new "Better Your Story" TV campaign after an unlikely chain of events that began with his daughter landing a role in the commercial first. The production team then asked the families to send in photos of the dads. They liked the photos of Mulki and requested an improv self-tape. "I nearly didn't bother," says Mulki. "I'm a jeweller, not an

We don’t always make choices that we can articulate through words, so the things we choose to keep close to us offer a murkier, poetic analysis. Through jewellery making and metalwork, Royal College of Art Head of Programme Dr. Jonathan Boyd considers jewellery as a means to explore our immaterial relationship with material objects. As a result, the act of making becomes the process through which we pull things apart and ask ourselves, “Why are we attracted to things and how are things attracted to us?” Elaheh Naghi Ganji (2023) Boyd is originally from Aberdeen and has spent the majority
The Jewellery Quarter has always been more than a place to work. It was built on shared expertise and continues to thrive as an epicentre of industry knowledge. Within it, we’re introducing Assay Hub , a new membership space by Birmingham Assay Office, designed to offer jewellery professionals a community environment and access to specialised screening equipment. For many working in jewellery and precious metals, the technical kit required for verification isn’t readily available, or affordable. Working remotely lacks the energy of the Quarter. Access to peers and face-to-face consultation is limited. Assay Hub has been created to change that.

Caravan of Stones has unveiled its first ever necklace: the LOVE Necklace, a diamond and ruby pendant that spells out “I Love You” in Morse code. It retails at £995. Diamonds on leather and braided thread: the new designs from Caravan of Stones bring a relaxed sensibility to precious jewellery. Inspired by founder Caron Bluestone’s summer travels in Greece, the pieces continue the brand’s exploration of unexpected material combinations. The result is jewellery that feels as natural with a T-shirt as it does when dressing for dinner. The collection builds on the approach behind Caravan of Stones’ diamond thread bracelets:

T erry Hunt, Chair of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery, remembers our friend and colleague Tam Savill. In 2010, in a lunch-hour at the School of Jewellery, I had a visit from Tam. This was the first time we’d met, and therefore my first experience of her “people-persuasion” skills. By the end of the lunch break I suddenly found myself, a lapsed founder-member of the Association, its new chair! And the rest, as the saying goes, is history. A rich and fulfilling time for the ACJ, with Tam achieving so many of her aspirational and bold projects – work that she
A much-loved reference point for creative design and inspiration for interiors, tech to fashion and jewellery; it's hard not to pinpoint a designer who hasn't used the beautiful intricacies of nature to inspire a collection of artistry. Not only are their shapes, patterns, textures and sizes unique and different between creatures, plants, flora and fauna but so are the architectures around where they inhabit across the continent. To say there is a wealth of inspiration in nature would be an understatement! Beautiful incarnations of garden biodiversity are some of the most widely used within jewellery collections. Intricate, colourful and dainty floral
