The Jewellery Collective – a community-driven members’ association founded on a vision of knowledge-sharing, inspiration and opportunity – has collaborated with the Hatton Garden Business Improvement District (BID) to host an event during London Design Festival.

Held in Hatton Garden on Thursday 19 September, From Inspiration to Innovation will platform a sparkling selection of jewellery designers, craftspeople and creative consultants. Over breakfast, these individuals will unpack the jewellery design process for an audience of jewellery and fashion enthusiasts seeking inspiration and practical knowledge of their own.

Dan Dower - designer, craftsman and co-founder of award-winning jewellery brand Dower & Hall – will give a keynote speech on his four decades of jewellery experience, offering a first-hand insight into his motivations, creative practises and lessons learned along the way.

A panel headed up by jewellery designer and The Jewellery Collective founder Kassandra Gordon will adopt a similar focus, also welcoming questions directly from the audience. The diverse panel features Gavin Marsh (co-founder, The Diamond Setter), Bibi Cheung (director, designer and maker, TVRRINI), Ruby Jack (co-founder and designer, Ruby Jack Jewellery), Rebecca Maddock (small business creative consultant, &Worn Studio) and Nadia Abbas (co-founder and designer, Stööki). From the sounds of music to love and relationships, the driving forces behind these creative visions of these accomplished individuals will be discussed through the lens of materials, craft techniques and tangible examples.

Thanks to funding from the Hatton Garden BID, The Jewellery Collective is delighted to invite guests to this event for free, furthering the collective in its mission to offer accessible touchpoints for minorities in an industry that continues to lack diversity, carving out new routes to success that transcend traditional and often exclusive pathways.

From Inspiration to Innovation is open to those interested in jewellery design, manufacture, marketing and trends. Those who wish to attend are invited to register their interest through an RSVP form.

The event is aligned with the London Design Festival, marks a year since The Jewellery Collective’s inaugural event in September 2023. The Jewellery Collective Forum welcomed hundreds of attendees to the Goldsmith’s Centre and featured a keynote speech from Stephen Webster MBE and a panel discussion on best practises in jewellery production. This year, From Inspiration to Innovation is set to commence The Jewellery Collective’s new late-2024 programme of further online and in-person activities.

“These curated but laid-back events are designed to challenge convention and offer safe and supportive spaces for people to learn from one another and form catalytic relationships. They platform fresh voices, new perspectives and exciting collaborations,”
explains new Community Manager Ruby McGonigle.

“We believe that by sharing knowledge and breaking down the barriers of secrecy, we can make the jewellery industry stronger and more sustainable,”
says founder Kassandra Gordon.

The Jewellery Collective is open to all jewellery and fashion professionals, from those just starting out to those who have been involved in the industries for many years.
