Lampert PUK Welder 2

As I now have a laser welder I’m sadly selling my Lampert 2 PUK welder. It is ideal for small weld jobs like jewellery. There are no nasty chemicals and it welds all metals including silver perfectly which laser welders don’t like!

Lampert are the biggest and best known brand of PUK welders. If you haven’t used a PUK welder before then it’s a great way to cold solder metal if a blow torch isn’t an option - perhaps pieces with gems already set. It’s essentially a desktop arc welder, you connect one electrode to the jewellery and then the handset probe delivers a small electric current which completes the circuit and produces a welding spark along with a burst of argon to protect the metal piece.

The unit is complete with all the instructions and paperwork. I have it crated all together, with the paperwork, wires, tubes and argon pressure adaptor. You will need to source your own Argon locally.

This one comes with an eye protected microscope AND an overhead light / magnifier / and eye guard (which is really easy to use when metal/silversmithing larger items or when using the microscope is just not practical).

I have included three different electrode holders - a third hand with reverse action tweezers, brand new Lampert pliers and a handy croc clip. I will also give you two packs of new tungsten carbide electrodes which are worth £50 in themselves. I have the manual etc as well.

It works a treat, I’ve never had a single issue with it and I must have closed hundreds of welds and jump rings with it. You can also use it to tack together a complex solder before you use the blowtorch. I’m looking for £1500 and it’s worth every penny of that so no silly offers please.

It is quite a heavy piece of kit so it would be easiest for the buyer to collect it from Ayrshire or from Glasgow. You could alternatively arrange for a courier to provide an insured service to pack it up securely (it will be in a plastic crate and I have packing materials - but they do usually want to do that themselves for insurance purposes) and then they will transport and deliver it to you. It has no damage apart from some scratches from years of use and it works perfectly, it’s a brilliant addition to any workshop.

Any questions feel free to email me. I have pictures and the link to the user manual on the Lampert website is here
