Anne Manns has a special fondness for creating jewels to decorate the ears. Her earrings, inspired by nature and especially by vegetables such as peas and aubergines, are characterised by a very clean, bright and warm design, able to climb up the skin with a unique lightness and portability writes Ilaria Ruggiero.
An elegant touch characterises her creations, that are developed for one of the most sensual and feminine parts of the body.
Not only elegance and brightness, but also irony, playfulness and freshness.
Using vegetables as a source of inspiration allows her to always maintain a language which is mobile, down-to-earth earth and everyday.
Her best-selling and most appreciated piece is perhaps the Eila Ear Piece, which wraps around the lobe like a small snake.
Anne Manns lives and works in Berlin and in the North of Italy. Having a background in fashion design she gained experience in the world of fashion. Throughout her career she developed a great interest in jewellery design and its craftsmanship. Evolving from this passion her first jewellery collection was created in 2016 and the label Anne Manns jewellery was founded. Seeking her main inspiration from sculptural art, nature and women in her environment, it is her goal to create long-lasting cherished pieces influenced by contemporary design. Clear, defined and modern shapes characterize Manns’ design.
Furthermore Anne Manns jewellery represents a love of detail and courage in experimentation. Implementing 3D stitching in her jewellery pieces creates a textile surface with structure. Materials are combined in a surprising way resulting in irony, which has always been a big part of Manns‘ work.
Anne Manns jewellery embodies a strong, feminine statement originating from the love of interaction between jewellery, clothes and their wearer.
