Viking Longboat Public Art Commission, Test Valley Borough Council

The riverside area at the Town Mills in Andover has undergone a transformation to create a new Riverside Park.  Luscious new landscaping, brand new walkways and surfacing, and eye-catching features now showcase the river to make it the perfect spot for people to relax, play, picnic and enjoy.

Test Valley Borough Council are continuing to enhance the area with a programme of public art commissions. The Viking Longboat is a well-loved commission in the River Anton. It is now over twenty years old is in need of TLC to keep it vibrant and engaging for our communities for the next twenty years to come.

This commission is looking for an artist or maker to create a set of 8 new Vikings, Sail and Mast to be fixed onto the existing frame in the river. Vikings will be engaging in their design and character and depict the heritage fables of the town.

Budget is £7,000

Deadline is Friday 1 April.
