Call for Applications: The Young Masters Art Prize 2019
The Young Masters Art Prize is a not-for-profit initiative of The Cynthia Corbett Gallery. Applications are being accepted now until 31 May 2019. Apply Now!
This renowned, innovative and high-profile Prize recognises how contemporary artists embrace the art of the past. More recently, the Young Masters Maylis Grand Ceramics Prize was developed to celebrate excellence in contemporary ceramics.
Young Masters also tours continuously throughout the year, offering a wider audience the opportunity to engage with the debates between contemporary art and art history.
Application Deadline
31st May 2019 at midnight BST.
Fee
£35 (+VAT if applicable) to apply with 4 artworks.
Shortlisted artists will be announced on 29 June 2019.
Shortlisted artists will need to deliver work to London between 9-26 September 2019.
Exhibition
The exhibition of shortlisted artists will be held in London from 30 September to 5 October at La Galleria, Pall Mall.
The winners will be announced at a prestigious presentation event on 1 October 2019.

Young Masters Art Prize:
• A Winner’s Prize of £1,500
• Two Highly Commended Awards of £500, courtesy the Artists’ Collecting Society (ACS)
Young Masters Maylis Grand Ceramics prize:
• A Winner’s Prize of £1,000, generously sponsored by James and Maylis Grand
• A Highly Commended Award of £500, generously sponsored by James and Maylis Grand
Emerging Woman Artist Award:
• £1,000, generously sponsored by Dr Chris Blatchley, along with mentoring, career advice and inclusion in an upcoming Art Fair with Cynthia Corbett Gallery
People’s Choice Award:
• £500, Sponsored by Brownhill Insurance
Judges
For the Young Masters Art Prize, the panel will include critic Godfrey Barker, art historian Jean Wainwright and founder of the Bridgeman Art Library and Managing Director of the Artists’ Collecting Society (ACS), Lady Harriet Bridgeman, CBE.
The judging panel for the Young Masters Maylis Grand Ceramics Prize comprises: collector Preston Fitzgerald; ceramics patron Maylis Grand; Director of New Art Centre - Roche Court, Stephen Feeke; the Crafts Council’s Daniella Wells and founder of Cultural Agenda, Davina Weir-Willats.
