The Platinum Jubilee Commission Application
Calling All Silversmiths
To mark the year of Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, The Incorporation of Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh seek to commission a contemporary piece of Silverware for the table. The chosen piece of Silverware will become part of The Incorporation of Goldsmiths permanent collection. The Scottish Goldsmiths Trust are delighted to have been asked to assist The Incorporation in selecting a silversmith for the commission. The only stipulation of the design brief is that the commission must incorporate a prominent Edinburgh Assay Office feature hallmark, which must include The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee mark.
The winning piece will be selected by a panel of representatives from The Incorporation of Goldsmiths and The Scottish Goldsmiths Trust.
The commission value is £10,000 + VAT. The selected silversmith must live and work in Scotland. Pieces submitted do not have to be newly made for this commission. Any work completed in 2022 that fits the design brief may be submitted. The finished piece must be submitted to The Scottish Goldsmiths Trust by 30 November 2022.
