In 2017 Dartmoor National Park is undertaking a public arts initiative, the model will be a 3 foot tall Moor Otter - primed and ready to paint. We are now calling for artists, craft makers, designers etc to submit a design submission for one of the 100 Moor Otters.   

To Apply
The application process is quite simple.

  • You submit a proposed design on or before Friday 11th November 2016, at 17h00
  • All designs will be reviewed by our expert ‘Selection Panel’ on Friday 18th November '16. 
  • If selected, you will receive a 3 foot tall fibreglass & resin Otter, primed and ready to paint.
  • Then it’s over to you.
  • There is no cost to you for receiving the Otter.

We need you to complete and get the following pages from the attached Guidelines and Info pack back to us:

  • Contact Details & Design Agreement on page 10
  • Design Submission on page 11
  • Design Overview on page 12
  • Your Biography on page 13

Deadline
You will see from the Key Dates on page 14 that we are looking to receive your Design submissions back. 
Our selection panel will consider and select the 100 successful applicants on Friday 18th November 2016.

Email them back, print off complete and send in the post, via courier or by hand – you decide.

We may contact you to discuss any matters which might arise in relation to the realisation of your design.

As you can imagine we are extremely grateful to you for showing an interest in the Moor Otters Public Arts Initiative for Dartmoor National Park - This is the first time such an initiative has been planned for a National Park, 100 Otters positioned around the Park and Gateway Towns is going to look absolutely awesome come the Summer 2017.
