Call for Applications: Landscape Open 2025: at Salisbury Museum
The Salisbury Museum is calling for entries for the Landscape Open at Salisbury, our new annual opportunity for artists working contemporaneously within the distinguished genre of landscape painting.
The open call invites artists to submit work within the genre of Landscape, across a range of mediums including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, moving image, textile, print and mixed media.
The museum is surrounded by the Wiltshire landscapes and monuments which have inspired generations of artists. Given this importance, it seems appropriate that Salisbury Museum should be the setting for an open competition that will celebrate the evolving relationships artists have towards the landscape.
The exhibition encourages the submission of a diverse range of landscapes in a multitude of styles and media, reflecting the multifaceted relationships artists have to place, and the range of talented artists working within the established genre.
Approximately 75 artworks will be selected for the group exhibition.
The winning artist will be awarded £1,000, as well as a solo show at the Salisbury Museum, providing them with an exceptional opportunity for artistic recognition and exposure. Students are also able to win the Student Mentoring Prize, designed to provide them with expert guidance to help steer their artistic practice.
The deadline to enter the Salisbury Landscape Open is 5pm on Wednesday 13th August 2025. Applications are made online via the submission portal: artopps.co.uk/opportunities/landscapeopen
The prize is open to artists, designers and makers, both amateur and professional both in the UK and internationally, aged 18 and over.
