JNA Jewellery Design Competition

Call for Applications: JNA Jewellery Design Competition 2018/19

The inaugural competition is organised by JNA of UBM Asia Limited, sponsored by Crossfor HK Ltd, Platinum Guild International (PGI) and the Tahitian Pearl Association Hong Kong (TPAHK), the competition recognises and celebrates excellence in jewellery design. It invites amateur and professional jewellery designers to harness their passion and ingenuity towards producing modern and innovative designs that reflect their perspective.

Theme of the competition

The theme of the 3 categories are :

Dancing Stone jewellery category - New Fashion Tech

Materials:
Entrants may incorporate gem and metal materials such as diamonds, coloured gemstones, platinum, silver, etc, with Dancing Stone as the predominant material of the piece *

Platinum jewellery category - Platinum Attitude

Materials:
Entrants may incorporate other materials such as diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls, wood, jade, etc, with Platinum as the predominant metal of the design.

No karat or yellow gold, or any endangered materials may be used in any submission *

Tahitian Pearl jewellery category - Asymmetric Perfection

Materials:
Entrants may incorporate other materials such as platinum or other coloured gemstones, with Tahitian Pearl(s) as the predominant material of the piece.

Design materials used in the Taihitian Pearl jewellery category must include Tahitian pearls /Tahitian keshi pearls in fancy or asymmetrical, excluding any endangered materials. *

Eligibility

JNA Jewellery Design Competition 2018/19 is open to aspiring jewellery design talents, including budding and professional jewellery designers and students and graduates from all jewellery design disciplines.

Judging Criteria

Entries for JNA Jewellery Design Competition 2018/19 will be evaluated anonymously, impartially and ethically against the following criteria:

Adherence to Theme – 30%
Originality – 10%
Creativity – 30%
Craftsmanship – 30%

1 October 2018 - Entry Opens
30 November 2018 - Entry Deadline
December 2018 - Preliminary Judging
January 2019 - Finalists Announced
January To May 2019 - Production of Finalists’ Designs
June 2019 - Final Judging Press Conference Announcing Winners
