Jewellery Design Project:
Design a pair of silver hoop earrings for
Georgiana Scott’s THE HOOP STATION sister label

We would like to give a young Jeweller the opportunity to pitch a design to us for our Christmas launch and the winning design would be put into our collection with immediate effect.

About Us

Our story is everyday luxury, effortlessly. 925 sterling silver collections which are made in Italy, freshwater pearl collections and a curated selection of 18 carat gold.

Established in London in 1991, Georgiana Scott is one of the original boutique jewellery labels. We are known for accessible, ageless, affordable pieces with collections in 10 x Fenwick stores and independent boutiques (UK & Dublin). Many of our customers are regulars who like to wear our pieces alongside their fine jewellery and premium watches. We recently collaborated with The White Company for a capsule collection of 4 x styles of sterling silver hoops.

In 2014 we launched THE HOOP STATION, the world's first Hoopermarket! A brushed stainless steel stand-alone POS for 25 x pairs (or 50 single) hoops and sleepers - an innovative, commercial concept, notably in the current challenging retail climate, with rrps from £25-195.

We have always been known as the Queen of Hoops for our premium quality hoops and this sister label made sense. We have a great selection of classics and classics with a twist as well as pieces which are on trend each season, catering for all styles and ages. Customers like the fact they can touch and feel the hoops and do not need to ask for a cabinet to be opened etc while browsing the shop floor.

Editors have likened THE HOOP STATION to the fashion earring equivalent of ‘posh chocolates at the Waitrose checkout’; without losing the luxe element; convenient, fuss-free and must-have-right-now. Hoops are a classic staple for every jewellery box. After all, every girl around the world - whether she is 18 or 85 – if she has her ears pierced - deserves a fabulous pair…!

The Design Brief

Design a pair of silver hoop earrings for Georgiana Scott’s THE HOOP STATION sister label.

We would like to give a young Jeweller the opportunity to pitch a design to us for our Christmas launch and it would be put into our collection with immediate effect.

To Design
A sterling silver charm for hoops which is detachable, with a 'click to' hinge.

Customers should have a choice of how to wear it; this project is predominantly for hoops, however it might even be possible to clip the charm onto bracelets or an (non-hoop) earring for that matter.

One size fits all, with the choice of a personalised charm - eg. birth stones, teeny pearls, initials from the alphabet, music notes etc etc and a host of other motifs which are personal.

Brand compliance

The charm must be in line with our brand; delicate, feminine, subtle rather than brash, and in particular must have a luxurious finish and it must use as little silver as possible, to maintain the 'affordable' price tag.

The Hoops are our most commercially successful items so we would like the charm to exude our brand DNA - accessible, everyday wear, independent label rather than mass market, customers who appreciates quality & discerning taste.

The images (not great!) attached are pieces we have in 18ct gold.

We would love to make it as light as possible yet with a very well made hinge that can withstand multiuse.

  • We will launch the detachable hoop charms to the press in July and debut in our space in Fenwick Bond Street (our flagship concession space) and roll out to other stores.
  • The product would be used for the Christmas launch and rolled out for the Christmas market
  • The winning design would be put into our collection with immediate effect.

The opportunity would be great for exposure and entrepreneurial commercial experience and opportunity.

The Sunday Times Style featured our hoops recently as did Marie Claire. Celebrity wearers include Adele, Emma Willis and Ellie Goulding.
