A nine month part-time programme to inspire you, transform your creative practice and kick-start your business. Maker led and maker designed with creativity at it's core. 

A nine month part-time programme to inspire you, transform your creative practice and kick-start your business. Maker led and maker designed with creativity at it's core. The INKubator is Scotland’s unique Jewellery Business Programme, with the aim of developing emerging talent by providing a supportive and educational environment. A carefully interwoven set of activities, opportunities and a hive of support to generate maximum impact. The INKubator enables the best emerging designers to develop and grow their business in a fully equipped workshop and with each 'INKer' given tailored 1-2-1 mentoring, monthly professional and skills development workshops, networking opportunities and events throughout the 9 month Programme. It's the perfect package to ensure each INKer develops confidence, business and practical skills to last a lifetime. Working with key members within the creative and business sector, the INKubator will give an insight into what it takes to become a jeweller in today's landscape.

Essential information

The INKubator runs from February - October 2020 with a residential in January 2020.

Application deadline midnight 29th September, interviews take place mid October.

Graduate Awards

Graduate of Year Award 2019 - Andrea Dritschel, DJCAD Graduate

Andrea has won a subsided place on the INKubator Programme 2020 with her beautiful jewellery that has a focus on sustainability and the environment.

The Smiddy Graduate Play Award 2019 - Ruth Page, ECA Graduate

Ruth has been given a travel and accommodation bursary for a week long residency in The Smiddy where she can play, experiment and have access to their workshop and tools. Ruth's work is looking in the beauty of the mundane and has developed a collection based around train stations.
