Guildford House Open

Artists can enter 2D or 3D work to take part in a group exhibition at Guildford House Gallery, with a top prize of £1,000 and a solo show.

Guildford House Gallery invites artists to submit work for the second edition of its art prize. Up to 100 works will be selected for a group exhibition and the winning artist will receive a £1,000 cash prize plus a solo exhibition. There is no set theme—our aim is to present the best contemporary art, whether 2D or 3D, across a range of media.

Entry Requirements

Entries may include paintings, sculpture, drawings, photographs, moving image, textile, prints or mixed media. Digital prints and collaborative artworks can be submitted (see rules and guidelines for further details). No Giclée reproductions, or copies of original works generated in other medium will be accepted.

Exhibits must be original, the artist must have all rights to the work.

Works must be for sale.

Entrants must be aged 18 or over and must be a resident in the UK.

We will not be accepting international applications.

Works must not exceed 18KG in weight.

Entry Process

To enter this opportunity you will need:

To register and complete an application form.
An image of your work that is under 5MB, and is a JPEG, jpg, PNG.
Details of your work: Title, Dimensions, Medium, Price.

To submit work, please go to online entry and complete the entry form where you will be asked to enter your details and pay for your submission. Entry fees are: £15 for the first submission and £10 for additional artworks. Artists may enter up to 4 artworks. Please note that payment does NOT mean your application is complete. To complete your application you must upload an image of your work(s). If you have successfully registered you will be able to edit your entry via the online entry tab.

You are free to go back and make any changes up until the deadline. After this point your entry will be automatically recorded, as shown at that time.

The Work

The competition is open to 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional works. Works must be available for sale during the exhibition and have been made in the last three years.

Works should not exceed dimensions of 2.4m on the longest side. 3D works should be no larger than 50cm on the longest side.

Works must not weigh more than 18KG.

All mediums are welcome, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, photography, moving image, print and textile.

The Guildford House Open exhibition has no theme.

Works should be delivered unwrapped with forms and labels. Please complete all labels carefully and attach them to the Works. In particular, please attach labels to the back of picture frames and to the bottom of sculptures. All exhibition material is compiled from the information on the form you provide when you submit it digitally so please complete it accurately.

Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. All works accepted for exhibition will be displayed entirely at the artists' risk and organisers and the gallery will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring during the exhibition.
