Cluster Remote Jewellery Artist-in-Residence 2027
Deadline: Friday 6 November 2026 (extended)
Who it’s for: jewellery artists and designers anywhere in the world, at any career stage, of any age or nationality
Application fee: £35
Organiser: Cluster Contemporary Jewellery, London
Cluster has extended the deadline for its remote residency, which lets one jewellery artist develop a new body of work from their own studio, followed by a solo exhibition in London.
The Cluster Remote Jewellery Artist-in-Residence is a one-month programme for a single jewellery artist. Unlike most residencies, it doesn’t ask the artist to relocate: the work is made in the artist’s own studio, wherever they are, with dates agreed to fit around their schedule. Cluster says it created the format in response to artists asking for a residency that works around their lives.
The organisers have extended the deadline because word about the residency is still spreading, and many artists are only now discovering it.
What the selected artist receives:
- One month working from their own studio during 2027
- Professional and peer mentoring, plus check-ins with Cluster’s founder
- Materials costs covered
- Introductions to galleries, curators, collectors and industry professionals
- A guaranteed press feature
- A solo exhibition in London a few months after the residency, with shipping, travel and accommodation provided
Who can apply: jewellery must be at the heart of the project, but interdisciplinary practice is welcome.
The jury and mentors include Holinka Escudero (The Jewellery Activist), Mihaela Ion (Revista Atelierul), jewellery artist Claudia Lepik as peer mentor, and Ema Marinova, Cluster’s director and founder.
Partners and supporters include the Society of Designer Craftsmen, the Academy of Contemporary Jewellery, the Association for Contemporary Jewellery, the Crafts Council, the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School and the Society of Jewellery Historians.
How it works:
- Apply by 6 November 2026
- Each application is scored independently by the jury, and the top five are invited to short interviews
- The residency takes place in 2027
- The exhibition follows in London a few months later
How to apply: open the application on Zealous, share your biography and details of your practice, then pay the £35 fee and submit. Discount codes for the application fee are available by messaging Cluster on Instagram at @cluster__contemporaryjewellery.
