Walthamstow, London
Are you an artist or maker with a strong connection to Waltham Forest, or an interest in our local area, looking to develop your practice? We would love to hear from you.
We are offering a creative practitioner with an interest in our local area and community the opportunity to grow their skills and practice with a three month residency at Blackhorse Workshop. This includes access to our shared studios, free use of our wood and metal workshops, guidance, and skill development with our specialist technicians.
The Blackhorse Makers-in-Residence are creative practitioners with a strong connection to Waltham Forest, who are provided a space in our shared studios with access to our wood and metal workshops for three months.
Some may be aspiring to launch a creative business, eager to develop technical skills, or pursue a career within a craft and education environment, so Blackhorse Workshops offer them space and guidance to a navigate a pivotal career transition. Inductions are provided as well as regular support sessions with the team.
Blackhorse Workshops first set up the residency programme in 2021 to support early career makers to get access to space and tools, support, and opportunity to build their network.
Residency Periods:
May – August 2025
September – November 2025
We will select one resident for each period through this Open Call.
