Opportunity for Warwickshire artists, Heritage and Culture Warwickshire, Warwickshire County Council
In February 2017, Market Hall Museum in Warwick will open its doors to the public following a £1.1million refurbishment funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Market Hall Museum is in a prime location in Warwick, and as part of this refurbishment a new shop and cafe area is being installed to the front of the Museum.
The New Market Hall Shop
The new Market Hall shop is situated within the entrance to the Museum, adjacent to the new café. The Museum entrance is located on the main Market Square in the centre of Warwick, at the heart of the town and its commercial offer. We expect a minimum of 40,000 visitors a year to the Museum, the majority of whom will pass through the shop.
One of the aims of our new shop is to provide a high quality, unique shopping experience for our visitors, which includes showcasing local artists’ work for sale.
We have commissioned a new, purpose built display case (approx. 600mm x 500mm x 2m ) to provide high quality display for artists' and makers' work.
In addition to displaying a selection of artworks in the shop from local artists, we are also interested in organising ‘meet the artist’, private views and other public events where artists will have the opportunity to meet and connect with our visitors.
Selling Opportunity
We are now seeking expressions of interest from local artists and makers to sell art, craft and design works in the shop in Market Hall Museum.
We expect the work to be high quality, handmade and have links to Warwickshire (e.g. Warwickshire based artist, work based on Warwickshire heritage or landmark).
