Call for Applications: Getting Started

Have you graduated in the last five years form a certified UK Precious Metal course?

Do you need support in developing your business skills, but aren’t sure exactly what skills you need?

Getting Started could be the course for you.

What is this course about?

Getting Started is a FREE, one week business taster programme for recent graduates who want to pursue a career within the industry. Funded by the Goldsmiths’ Company, the course is delivered and takes place at the Goldsmiths’ Centre in Clerkenwell.

Course dates

9am until 5pm, Monday 8th to Friday 12th January 2018

Cost

Free.

Delegates may claim for help with accommodation and travel costs if based outside of London and its environs.

What does the course cover?

Delivered as series of seminars, interactive workshops and talks from keynote speakers over five days, the programme focuses on:

• How to develop your business website, CV and electronic portfolio
• Business administration, costing and pricing
• Basics of consumer research, PR, marketing and social media
• How to impress with good photography
• Selling your work to galleries and visual merchandising
• Networking techniques to start making your business connections

Why apply?

You’ll finish the Getting Started week with a greater understanding of the skills needed to run a business or move on within a creative career.

Your work will be showcased at the Goldsmiths’ Centre and as part of a special industry evening, you’ll be able to make new contacts and connections to get you on the way to success.
