Funding has been identified through Southwark Council’s Parks Capital Programme to commission an artist /arts organisation to produce and install a new visual artwork in Burgess Park to commemorate the people and places impacted by WWI zeppelin bomb that landed on Calmington Road, which is now incorporated into Burgess Park.
Project Aims
To work with the local community to create a high quality visual art installation that commemorates the people and places impacted by the zeppelin bomb on Calmington Road and celebrates the heritage of the local area.
To foster a sense of ownership of the artwork by local residents and businesses and involve them in the process that leads to the creation and selection of the final artwork.
Fee
£12,500 (includes all project costs and artists fee)
