2x Artist opportunities - Ginkgo Projects
Artist Opportunity 1. - Unity Place, Swindon
Ginkgo Projects is seeking an artist to commission on behalf of Zurich Insurance to research and create new work for their new headquarters in Swindon. The work will be developed through a process of research and collaboration, including engagement with Zurich staff and communities in Swindon and linking in to associated bursaries for local artists. Permanent work will be located within the open space being created at the front of the new building and we welcome applications from artists with interest in:
- sustainable environment and material development
- design of positive spaces – creating spaces for diverse communities and mental wellbeing
- developing conversations with communities and partners – looking at innovative ways of engaging with others throughout the commissioning process.
We are interested in seeing new and innovative responses to these themes and to hearing about how you see them manifesting within this commission. There is a budget of up to £75,600 inclusive of all fees for delivery.

Artist Opportunity 2. – Site 20 at Cribbs Causeway, South Gloucestershire
Ginkgo Projects is seeking to commission an artist on behalf of Baylis Estates to research and create new permanent artwork. The work will occupy a green landscaped area which forms a pedestrian and wildlife corridor crossing the new mixed leisure and retail development at Site 20, Cribbs Causeway. Working in partnership with an environmental, community or academic organisation (as suited to the project) the artist will develop site specific work. We welcome applications from artists interested in:
- Creative habitat enhancement
- Kinetic sculpture
- Recycled or sustainable projects, green energy
- Working with the whole site as a canvas (a wetland habitat and pedestrian route)
We are interested in diverse responses to these themes. Please down load the project brief here.
There is a budget of up to £150,000 ex VAT inclusive of all fees and delivery.
