Hello

How are you?

We’ve missed you.

You may have been wondering where we have been. Like all of us, Benchpeg has had to acclimatise to a ‘new normal’ and this has taken some time.

We’ve had to weather a few storms before but this global pandemic is something none of us have experienced in our lifetimes. For Benchpeg, this has meant a number of personal and professional issues including the hospitalisation of one of our children with a Covid-19 scare, who is thankfully fine now. Unfortunately, this meant putting Benchpeg on hold temporarily while we hunkered down and dealt with the situation that was presented to us so please forgive our absence.

However….we are back, energised and ready to continue supporting the industry as we have done for the last 14 years, albeit in a different guise.

Benchpeg is a labour of love. We stand by the values of truth, fairness, equality, information and a bit of personal opinion thrown in. We are a micro business, founded with the principles of information sharing and the mutual support of the jewellery industry.

We like helping people in our industry. Our industry is inherently creative, generous and collaborative and these are the values we aim to embody. We love the fact that a little time and effort on our part can make a huge difference to other people’s lives. We stand with all of you experiencing hardship and know this must be a testing time for many of you. We are here to support you as best we can.

The sudden disruption caused by this event, however, can bring with it opportunity. As small businesses, we are in a unique and potentially exciting position. We have the agility to adapt quickly and creatively to the changing landscape and create opportunity where perhaps it didn’t exist before.

Benchpeg has seen technology evolve and disrupt before now. We were the first digital newsletter in the industry and we know the power of networks. We believe people will seek meaning in uncertain times and our industry can provide that with the stories that we can tell about our work and in the authenticity of our products.

Thinking time is also important and we can use this time to help ourselves, one another and plan for a new landscape, so watch this space.

Keep safe. Keep well. We’ll ride this together.

PS. Thank you for all the lovely messages of support regarding the hospital experience. They were all read and overwhelmingly supportive. Thank you. Our NHS is simply wonderful. x
