Vipa Designs Ltd, leaders in ‘Design to Delivery’ for the jewellery trade, has become the first-ever European jewellery manufacturer to offer Fairmined Eco gold.

Receiving its first consignment of the metal this month, Vipa Designs provides retailers and designers with the possibility to have bespoke designs and collections cast in this most precious of ethical metals, produced without the use of cyanide and mercury typical to the gold mining process.

Offering gold mined at the small-scale artisanal Xamodx Ngo mine in Mongolia, Vipa Designs is answering the needs of ever-more ethically conscious consumers shopping for fine and bridal jewellery. Fairmined Eco metal also provides forward-thinking designers and retailers with a new ethical source with which to create conscious, meaningful bridal and fine jewellery.

Speaking of becoming the first manufacturer in Europe to offer Fairmined Eco gold, Vipa Designs founder and managing director Peter Crump said,“We are truly honoured to be the first British and European jewellery manufacturer to offer Fairmined Eco gold to our clients. More than ever, there is a need to provide an ethical choice to consumers as they become increasingly aware of the impact of gold mining and the provenance of precious metals. With Fairmined Eco gold, we are able to provide the most ‘green’ gold possible, mined without the use of harsh chemicals that can impact both the miners’ health and the environment. It’s a truly positive step forward for the jewellery trade and part of Vipa Designs ongoing drive to provide the best range of services for our valued customers.”

Dubbed ‘Gold to be Proud Of’ Fairmined gold is used by over 100 companies, including world-renowned jewellery houses and innovative designers. The metal was also used for the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize.

The news of securing Fairmined Eco gold follows Vipa Designs’ recent shortlisting for The NAJ Awards 2016. Through nominations from its customers, the business won a coveted
spot in the Supplier of the Year category, and hopes to take home the top prize at the awards in December.

Founded in 1978, Vipa Designs remains an ambitious company providing casting, design and full manufacturing for its clients, with friendly service, dedicated staff and long-term, close working relationships with customers.

"We are a company that dislikes the word ‘no’,” states Peter Crump. “We will always say ‘yes’ to a client’s needs or queries and will work closely together to find the answers and create their design.”
