Peter Harrington, the UK’s largest rare bookseller, has collaborated with its London neighbour, British jewellery designer Theo Fennell, to launch a new exhibition within the Theo Fennell gallery in Fulham Road, which is on until Thursday 12th July.
The exhibition features rare Peter Harrington books from the 15th to 20th century including Goldfinger, The Secret Garden, The Arabian Nights, The Seven Pillars of Wisdom and The Complete Pooh Series which have been paired with Theo Fennell related jewellery pieces, including The Colosseum Ring, The Henry V Brooch, The Oscar Wilde Ring, The Empty Quarter Ring and the Emerald City Ring.
Pom Harrington, the owner of Peter Harrington said “We are excited to have curated this fascinating exhibition of some of our most popular and beautiful rare books with Theo Fennell’s fabulous and innovative jewellery. Both of our brands have similar values and look forward to working on more collaborations with Theo Fennell in the future.”
Theo Fennell said “I have really enjoyed this collaboration with Peter Harrington as it has allowed me to indulge in one of my greatest passions and a source of endless inspiration, books. Harrington’s always have such an eclectic selection that it is one of my dream places to gather ideas. I believe that, as well as being original and beautifully made, jewellery should be thoughtful, sentimental and provocative.”
The exhibition is on until Thursday 12th July at Theo Fennell, 169 Fulham Road, London, SW3 6SP and the gallery is open from 10am – 6pm Monday to Saturday.
First editions of The Complete Pooh Series by A.A. Milne of all four Pooh books (1924-8) are shown with some pieces from the Bee Collection by Theo Fennell. Only 5,175 copies of the first book When We Were Very Young were published so the Series is rare (£3,750).
For the love of God: The making of the Diamond Skull by Damien Hirst (2007) is a first edition signed by Damien Hirst, and traces the production of his diamond skull (£600). It is shown with an 18ct white gold, pave diamond Artists Portrait Ring by Theo Fennell.
