Gold Fragment Believed to Be Anglo-Saxon Inspires Modern Fine Jewellery Collection
British designer Andrew Geoghegan launches Goldwin, the first piece in the Treowth collection, following a discovery in the English countryside.

A gold relic believed to be Anglo-Saxon has inspired a new fine jewellery release by British designer Andrew Geoghegan.
The intricately detailed piece was discovered last year while metal detecting in England with his son Arthur. Thought to be up to 1,500 years old, the relic immediately stood apart from the more routine finds found during the trip.

Rather than recreating the artefact, Geoghegan was deeply inspired to create pieces in homage to the find. Beading and spiralling gold wire motifs informed the design of Goldwin, an eternity-style band and the first release in a new collection titled Treowth - an Old English word meaning faith, trust and loyalty.
“For more than thirty years I’ve designed fine jewellery,” says Geoghegan. “But this was the first time my lifelong fascination with buried history and my profession truly met. Holding something shaped by human hands fifteen centuries ago brings perspective. It connects you to a lineage of craft.”
Goldwin is crafted in 18ct yellow gold, rose gold and platinum, and set with diamonds, sapphires, rubies or tsavorites. For the first time, the collection will also offer the option of lab-grown diamonds, reflecting a quiet dialogue between ancient inspiration and contemporary innovation. The
inaugural release opens on 28th February and remains available at its launch price until midnight on 4th March, after which it moves to full retail.
Inaugural prices start from £2500.
