The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) has opened recommendations for the 2026 NAJ Chair’s Award, recognising the outstanding contribution of an individual or business to the UK jewellery industry.

Supported by returning sponsor Presman Mastermelt, the 2026 NAJ Chair’s Award will be presented at the Benevolent Society Christmas Ball at the Grand Hotel Birmingham on Thursday, 26th November.

The award celebrates an individual or business that has demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to the jewellery trade, recognising those whose contribution has helped support, strengthen and shape the industry.

Previous winners have included Hockley Mint Managing Director Gary Wroe, former London Diamond Bourse President Alan Cohen, David Doyle, Beaverbrooks and the industry trade charities.

Launching recommendations for the 2026 award, NAJ Chair Mehdi Saadian commented,

“As the trade association representing the whole of the UK jewellery sector, it’s a privilege to be acknowledging the exceptional contributions of those who have continually helped shape and support our incredible industry and membership over many years.”

Stephen Groves, General Manager of Mastermelt Ltd, added,

“At Mastermelt, we are delighted to continue our long-standing support of the NAJ Chair’s Award, celebrating individuals and organisations who have made a lasting contribution to our trade. We look forward to joining the industry in celebrating this year’s winner at the Benevolent Society Christmas Ball.”

NAJ members are now encouraged to put forward individuals or businesses they believe deserve recognition, highlighting the contribution they have made to the jewellery trade and the wider industry.

Recommendations should be 300 words or fewer and include the nominee’s name together with details of their contribution to the sector.

The deadline for submissions is Sunday, 8th November 2026. Following the closing date, all recommendations will be reviewed by an independent judging panel before the recipient is announced and presented with the award at the Benevolent Society Christmas Ball.

Recommendations should be emailed to marketing@naj.co.uk by the deadline.
