At Plumpton College, the Level 2 Jewellery Making program (Level 2 NCFE Certificate in Creative Craft (Heritage & Traditional Crafts)) is a comprehensive and hands on curriculum that covers skills such as drawing, jewellery fabrication, design development, and TIG welding.

This well rounded approach ensures learners not only master the technical aspects of jewellery production but also develop a strong artistic foundation and the ability to communicate their ideas visually.

Technical and Practical Mastery

We have a strong emphasis on introducing technical and practical mastery from the very beginning of the jewellery making program. Students are encouraged to develop hands on skills early through two set projects, allowing them to gain confidence and precision in their bench skills. This early immersion into practical work not only strengthens their abilities but also fosters a deep respect for craftsmanship, preparing them to tackle more complex independent projects as they progress through the course.

Student Sales Platform

This year the students have developed Alloy Refined, the in house jewellery brand, which provides a platform for students to present and sell their work to a wider audience, as well as being a sales platform accessible to them after graduating.

Real Life Project Work

One of their most notable achievements of this year includes the collaborative creation of a Chain of Office for Peacehaven Chamber of Commerce, a prestigious and symbolic piece that demonstrates the students’ craftsmanship, and collaborative design skills. This, along with a wide array of innovative jewellery pieces, reflect the exceptional quality and creativity fostered at Plumpton College.

Bench Skills + Creative Skills

This course is suited to anyone wanting to learn and develop fine jewellery bench skills. If you're interested in the creative process of researching, designing, making, and marketing jewellery peices, this course is perfect if you’re looking to boost your career in the jewellery industry.
