Designed to educate gem professionals, jewellers, valuers, traders, researchers and enthusiasts, it provides insights into everything from opal’s geological origins, historical significance, identification and classification, to value factors and opal usage in jewellery and trade. Other highlights include modules on opalised fossils, ethical sourcing, and opal markets and commercial practices worldwide, with coverage extending beyond Australian opal to include major occurrences and practices across the globe.
