PRESS RELEASE: An Important Announcement from The Jewellery Collective-GOODBYE!

For the past three years (including our foundational Hatton Garden social year), we have poured our passion and energy into building this community. We've proudly hosted countless events, facilitated invaluable mentoring opportunities, and opened doors to new avenues for jewellers across the UK. All of this has been achieved predominantly through the unwavering dedication of our volunteers.

When we embarked on this journey, the intention was for our volunteer efforts to be a temporary foundation, with clear promises of industry-wide support and a future where jewellers and businesses would sign up as paying members, enabling us to sustain and grow.

Despite generating thousands of pounds in business for our community members, and accumulating hundreds of compelling case studies that clearly evidence the tangible impact we've made in the jewellery industry, this model, based on community building, collaboration, and an anti-gatekeeping ethos, has proven unsustainable for this industry at this point in time. It has, at times, highlighted how insular certain parts of the jewellery industry can be.

While we've received immense praise and countless smiles in person, the reality is that the profound work and significant change we've driven in the industry, all delivered by dedicated volunteers, has not translated into the vital financial support or a widespread sense of appreciation that would make our efforts sustainable. It has become clear that working tirelessly for free, whilst consistently producing amazing results, is simply not viable in the long term.

We truly tried, and we are incredibly proud of what we achieved together.
