Fine jeweller Alice Clarke creates one of a kind ocean treasures at the bottom of the World in the Falkland Islands. Her new collection ‘Out Of The Shallows’  was launched last week in New York at the Melee The Show.

Living and working in the Falkland Islands, where her waterfront studio sits in Stanley, with a population of 3,000, Alice creates all her work in-house. From casting to stone setting, Alice’s little workshop is a hub of creativity.

Alice exhibited her jewellery collections in New York for the first time at the beginning of August. Her “very nautical year”, started with an expedition trip across the ocean to South Georgia, exploring new islands which make up the Falklands archipelago.

Inspiration ignited, Alice wanted to make the most of her long trip up North to the states so began designing and making a new body of work; Out Of The Shallows. The collection is crafted from recycled 14k yellow gold, natural Ocean diamonds, and handpicked wild pearls from Falkland & Canadian waters. Each piece evokes the romance of ancient ships, forgotten treasures, and the allure of the ocean’s depths. With a nautical touch, this collection is for those who find intrigue in the fanciful realm of adventure and discovery.

Speaking of the launch, Alice said,

“I’m delighted to have exhibited in New York, it’s such a privilege. All the islanders got very excited, there was a buzz around town about my trip. I’m super excited to be showcasing the best of my treasures including my new collection Out of the Shallows.”

Nothing really compares to the emotions and feelings of being surrounded by vast open water. ‘Out Of The Shallows’ was dreamt up and brought to life through sketches while on a voyage of discovery, in more ways than one, during an ocean crossing from the Falkland Islands to South Georgia in the South Atlantic.
