Two of the UK’s leading suppliers of ethically sourced and traceable coloured gemstones, Nineteen48 and Rubyfair, have announced a merger of their businesses. The merger will give customers a more efficient service and a greater range of coloured gemstones from one unified sales channel.

Nineteen48 specialises in fully traceable coloured gemstones from Sri Lanka: sapphires, aquamarines, garnets, tourmalines, alexandrite, moonstones, topaz, amethyst, spinels plus a range of other gems; whereas Rubyfair offers tanzanite, rub, sapphire and spinel from its mine in Tanzania.

“Having been working closely together for some time, we decided that we should officially join forces and provide a more streamlined and efficient service to our combined customer base”, stated Gary Roberts, owner of Rubyfair.

Both brands will continue to exist in their own right for the foreseeable future, but all enquiries will now be handled through a single channel to improve the level of service and overall customer experience.

Nineteen48’s director, Gary Seneviratne, explained, “This is a fantastic opportunity for two companies who share the same commitment to ethical sourcing, traceability and transparency to become a more significant player in the coloured gemstone marketplace”.

Enquires for gemstones from either Rubyfair or Nineteen48 should be made via info@nineteen48.com.
