The annual UK Jewellery Awards was this year held at The Artillery Garden in July and brought together those members of industry involved in jewellery retail. Compared by TV Presenter Gethin Jones, the awards evening celebrated the past year’s achievements of jewellers on the high street.

Nicholas Wylde and his team were recognised for their promotional activities, which celebrated founder Nicholas’ 30 years in business, by the presentation of Best Marketing Campaign Award.

Promoting not only their own business, Bath’s Wylde Treasure Hunt brought the Bath high street and over 30 indie shops together, promoting the Bath shopping experience and tourism all-in-one. The campaign encouraged excited treasure hunters to visit all areas of Bath in search of hidden Nicholas Wylde designs. With a grand prize of a £10,000 piece of jewellery up for grabs, not to mention free hotel stay at the Gainsborough Hotel and many more fabulous prizes, there was going to be no shortage in contestants.

The Judges commented: "This event was truly creative, created much media attention and delivered an impressive response.”

Nicholas Wylde, an already award-winning independent jeweller, celebrating 30 years in 2017,  organised Bath’s Wylde Hunt, in association with Visit Bath. 8 items designed by Nicholas were hunted down by approximately 3500 contestants, solving clues in the form of poems.

Nicholas commented: “I really enjoyed designing the unusual items and working closely  with my retail partners. My idea was to create an interesting interactive competition that could help the independent retail trade of Bath but also showcase our beautiful jewellery around the City”.
